Hunter and I ran out this morning and got special father's day donuts. We dropped one off for my dad (snuck it in their kitchen) and then came home to eat them with kevin and Aislyn. We then enjoyed a lazy morning. We headed out around noon to a secret location. Our driver (Kevin) was given rough directions as to where he was driving to. I had the idea earlier in the week to have the kids paint mugs, or picture frames, etc. to give to their dad as a gift today, but then decided to wait and go as a family. I figure half the fun is watching the kids have fun! So, we went to Sunshine Glaze in Southlake and the kids picked out their pieces. Hunter went with the coffee mug, and Aislyn decided her dad would like a wine glass. They were allowed to pick out four colors each to paint their pieces. Aislyn loaded up with pinks and greens, while hunter chose bright blue, red, orange and yellow.
The final creations - before being glazed.
Then, later in the day, Hunter made a scavenger hunt for Kevin to follow in order to get to his presents! He made different colored arrows and put them all over the floor. Kevin walked followed them to his gift!
A handmade card, a musical card (he picked out 'you can't touch this' musical card... 'atta boy hunter!) A new fishing reel, and a lure. His beautiful new pottery pieces will be ready for pick up next weekend (i have a feeling i am getting a new pink wine goblet instead of kevin, ha!)
For dinner, kevin grilled up the most awesomest burgers EVER while the kids enjoyed playing on the slip n' slide. It was a great evening!
